Acorns Launched!
Acorns » Devlog
Acorns, my second game, has officially launched! This one I am super excited about sharing. It was a passion project that I was able to complete in six days. Something that I have never been able to do before.
Nineteen years ago (when I was fourteen), I developed the very first game I ever made, and I called it "Acorns". It was based on an old Windows 3.1 game called "Walnuts" that was released back in 1994 by Brian C. Lowe and Eric Lee Steadle. My game at the time wasn't much to look at. I drew all the art in MS Paint. I also didn't know how to make sound effects and music back then, so I had to use other people's assets. However, I managed to make it in only three hours using a very old version of Game Maker, and from that point on I was addicted to game development.
Fast forward to today, and I am now releasing a remake of that very first game I made back in 2002. This project was something I have been wanting to do for a while. I have a lot of good memories from back then, and now I finally have the skills to do it right. I'm also a really big fan of making games in the style of older gaming systems, so going with an NES-style just felt like the right thing to do.
I hope you all enjoy playing this game as much as I enjoyed making it. This project was a blast, and I'm so stoked to finally have a second fully-finished and published game under my belt.
Please give Acorns a try and let me know what you think of it. Your feedback means everything to me and helps make developing these games worth it.
